House in Carla-Bayle, France
Situated in the middle of the Ariege countryside a simple and economic house is being designed for a travel writer. Conceived as a single storey timber clad box raised on wooden columns has allowed the existing landscape to be left undisturbed. A glazed wall is set back within the box to provide a continuous terrace from which all the rooms can be accessed. The roof provides deep solar shading to this south west elevation. The rear of the house closes itself to the access road.
